Full name: Claire Marianne Laveau
Alias: Don't call me Claire-Bear.
Race: Half Human, Half Fae
Planet of Origin: Earth
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Affiliation: Chaotic Neutral
Play by: Kristen Kreuk
Fandom: Supernatural but slight Original
Personality: If there's one word that describes Claire it's unpredictable. She'll be sweet one minute and a pistol the next looking to knock your block off for something. So yes she can be a bit temperamental. It's just natural for her; it's in her blood. She is a strong willed, stubborn young woman which she gets honest from both sides of her family here. Once she makes up her mind, good luck changing it. You're more likely to get a mule that doesn't want to move to well--actually move. She doesn't like it when people tell her what she should be doing or how she should be living. So you can say that she's got a bit of a rebellious streak when it comes to authority figures and listening to them.
She's half Fae so it accounts for some of her temperamental nature, as well as, the reason she's so intuned to magic itself; the Fae being magical beings. She's very adept at controlling her magical abilities and rivals her ancestor Marie Laveau in skill. Though with these being dangerous times she's doesn't want to take chances to get caught up in the middle of this stupid ass war if she can help it. She likes to keep herself more protected right now because of everything that she can sense through her magic and Fae nature. She keeps her knowledge to herself as it's her most powerful asset, well one of them at least.
Fairly intelligent she'll let the other big dogs duke it out before she even dares to step into the fight. The side she's on the most is her own. It's rare for her to choose someone else over herself. She's never really had to make that sacrifice before. To do so would take a lot on her part. She's not one that has ever believed in the whole "true love" concept, finding it more laughable than anything. Mayhaps because she is used to just having flings and not really any solid relationships. As most that try to form relationships with her tend to either eventually get on her nerves and annoy her or just get too dang clingy. So she's just happy to live in the moment and take life as it comes.
She also has a broody side when it comes to dealing with her Fae side of the family though. She can get positively bitter and dark. While there's caring for her father there's none for his wife. The woman just rubs her the wrong way. It's because she feels as if the woman looks down on her for A.) being half human and B.) that she's the product of an affair. She can carry a grudge a nice long while and that can stew into something more if you aren't careful, cause pissing off a Vodun isn't that smart.
Appearance: Claire stands at a full height of 5'3", which isn't very tall but height isn't everything in this world. She carries herself with a confidence that makes her seem much taller than she is. She weighs in at just one hundred and thirteen pounds which puts her at an average healthy weight. She is thin but lightly muscled from working out; mostly running and occasionally boxing. She has slender curves that often catch people's eyes. Sometimes it's hard to not notice her. The line of fae she descends from possessing an almost ethereal beauty which was passed onto her via her father. She has rich full lips that are slightly heart shaped, almond shaped golden-brown eyes framed by dark lashes and high cheekbones. The latter two she got from her Fae ancestry. Her hair is coal black, taking after her mother's side of the family in that aspect there. Currently it goes down to her shoulders with a few bangs that fan across her forehead.
When it comes to clothes well practicality and mobility are key for Claire. She tends to wear jeans, tees and tennis shoes more often than not. Don't think that to mean she doesn't own a dress or won't put one on. She likes them, she's just not had too much time for that kind of fun lately. Also when preforming a big ritual she'll sometimes dress the part to boot, creating a ritual gown for the event or occasion, much like her ancestors to make it special. But only if she's truly doing something for show.

History: The day Claire was born it was a completely cloudless, sunny day. She wasn't born in a hospital either. No she was born in a field with only her mother, father and grandmother present. Oberon's hands were the first to hold her and his the first face that she saw in the world, second was her mother's. For this reason, along with the fact that he had cheated on her with a human, Oberon's wife, Titania despises the girl with a burning hatred. When she was first brought to the Fae realm to be honored as Oberon's blood Titania refused this, saying she was tainted and would only taint their son's, claim to the throne. Oberon would not refuse his daughter, but Titania would not accept her. They finally came to the impasse that she would be labeled as a bastard child and banished from their realm. If she entered without express permission she would be hunted down and slaughtered.
Being the bastard child of the Fae king wasn't the only highlight of her life though. She is the first daughter of the sixth first daughter who descended directly from Marie Laveau. The natural power in the Laveau family passed down from generation to generation from first daughter to first daughter. The Laveau witches were always a powerful line but faded into the background after Marie Laveau II, because the family was attacked by hunters in the past. Of which the ancestors killed because of their folly in coming to attack them, thinking they had made a deal with a demon for their powers.
Her childhood wasn't outright horrible. She had a good home, a mother and grandmother that loved her. She grew up in the heart of New Orleans, the French Quarter. Her family was never rich but they made ends meet by providing services as they were needed. And not just to humans, they dealt with supernatural folks as well so Claire was used to seeing the sort around growing up. She grew up learning spells, incantations, potions, how to heal naturally and magically. Though doing so magically can take more out of you. All of this things she had to learn from experience.
As a teenager she pushed her limits more than once with magic. Wanting to go back with her father after one of the visits, stating that it wasn't fair that she couldn't see his realm simply because she was his child. He left her with an apology. That night she created a storm from her anger and frustration, fueling it and pushing it. She hardly even noticed that it was draining her strength, bones breaking, because the high of the magic flowing through her numbed her to it all. If not for her half-brother Xanatos she would have died that night.
He was the one that stopped her. He promised that one day she would not be banned and looked upon as an exile. Of course since then she's only seen her brother in passing through the gateways. He's never come back through. She did get a warning though from Titania to stay away from her son. Which only makes her suspicious of the woman and drives her hatred for her more. She began to work in the family shop down in New Orleans, Full Circle. They sold herbs, tinctures and potions to cure ailments. Even did small spells to help people. Things that were all really under the radar kind of stuff.
It wasn't until 2005, when Katrina came through the whole world really got rocked for Claire and turned on edge. On her mother's urging she evacuated when it was first called for, taking the family book of shadows and a few others things of her own with her. Her mother stayed behind to pack up some other things before heading out a few hours later. The only thing was though that her mother never made it out of New Orleans. She died in the storm. She mourned her mother but began to seek out her father and half-brother, learning from Fae she cornered they were no longer in the Fae realm.
Since then she's been on the hunt, tracking them down. Not feeling that it's safe to stay in one place for too long, something in her gut just kept telling her to keep moving. Over the last five years she's crossed paths with two hunters. The first one happened in 2006 when she was Oklahoma, female hunter who wouldn't listen to reason and ended up with a full memory wipe, which put Claire out of commission for a week. The last was early in 2009, lanky skinny kid, said his name was Starsky, he was investigating the death of someone next door to her in the motel where she'd been staying. She didn't like the fact that hunters were getting so close to her. She hadn't taken a life before or yet but if they came after her again she decided that she just might to send them a message to stay away.
Role Play Sample:
Ah, New Orleans. It had been home for so long and it always would be home in Louis' mind. No other place in the world was like his New Orleans. Even now in the wake of this. This emptiness that filled the world and brought back his humanity in a way that tore at him. New Orleans only faintly smelled the same. He deduced that with the people gone, that without the smells of the food, the coffee, the smoke, the bars that his beloved city had become much like the fabled Pompei in his mind.
A place lost to time. It broke his heart in a whole new way and left an ache there. He longed for the city to be full of life again. To see the lights sparkling, to hear the chatter of many voices and the roar of the vehicles. But it was gone. Gone just as his dear little Claudia was gone. Something now lost to him forever and alive only in his memories. Dress shoes crunched lightly as he moved down the sidewalk of the once famous Burbon Street.
Many a night he had walked these streets. Alone and also with Lestat. Ah, Lestat. His dear Creator. He couldn't help but wonder if he had survived whatever this was. He had checked his flat but had found no sign of the elder vampire. So far no word from Marius or Armand either and that also weighed heavy on his heart. Not that he thought any of them would just... commit themselves to the sun. But to be condeamed to an empty world such as this... it made immortality less and less appealing when you knew you would be spending it alone.
Not that he would seek to make himself a companion. No. Every childe he'd ever made was dead and gone now. For one reason or another. Perhaps he wasn't meant to make a bloodline of his own. Oh just the thought of it gave him a pang and he stopped walking, looking to the slightly run down theater. Warm breeze blowing dark brown locks about. Right now he was lonely and just wanting another soul that could think and feel and reason to speak with. Someone else to talk to. Someone to help shoulder this silence with. If he didn't come across someone soon he knew that he'd have to abandon New Orleans and go in search of the others.
"Mon Dieu, qu'est-ce que nous sommes devenus..." The words flowed past his lips in french so fluidly. He found himsely slipping between english and french lately without any company around. It left him half wondering if he was going to go mad. Or simply if he already had.
